While I understand the need to regulate water levels in the Chickamauga reservoir as relates to flood control, I don't agree with beginning the process so early (late August). Traditionally, October is one of the driest months of the year in Chattanooga but by virtue of the present water level policy, many of the area residents are limited in their ability to recreate in October due to the low water levels by the end of September. With Chattanooga October temperatures typically warm enough to enjoy boating, why not delay the beginning of the "draw-down" until mid-October?
