My point is that all these candidates have to recognize what the government media template is. He was asked about something by a far lefty and he basically accepted it as the truth and commented on it. That was a mistake.

I would much rather have him answer it like this. "Come on Christie, considering the awful condition of the economy and Obama's total incompetence you want to ask me about some painted rock on a hunting property?!?!? I don't know anything about it and I am not going to comment on it but I will tell you this. Obama has to be a one term President. This country can't afford another four years of his incompetence and I am the man for that job. I know how to create jobs. You in the media can ignore the real problems this country faces and chase down meaningless stories all you want. I am going to focus on what is important to the American people and that is the economy."

His answer, just like Romney and Perry arguing about who wrote what in which book is just a distraction. I think in fact that their back and forth is one of many reasons why Cain was gaining traction (along with his 999 plan). He needs to get back to what was getting him traction and ignore the stupid consultants.
