Well, we had some furniture made by a person over in Wetumpka. He moved here 35 years ago from Missouri.

He told us he still has people say to him; "You are not from around here are you?". My wife will never be considered from around here and after forty years of absence (I grew up in Dothan), I may probably never re-establish residence.

Don't worry about it since the locals will accept your money. The first thing the locals will attempt to do is establish some type of family connection from the past with you. If you don't pass this test, then you are not from around here, and some of us wonder if it affects the price of goods and services. LOL

For the most part, the locals are good "God Fearing" people and do tolerate most of us the best they can.
