Hope everyone on the lake knows that they shouldn't have to buy flood insurance, unless maybe their house is on a flood prone tributary that flows into the lake. Your mortgage company may make you prove you're not in a flood zone though.

BTW, I had FEMA flood insurance from 1982 till 2007, and there was never a rate increase, so one is long overdue.
