It's just that for the life of me I cannot ever remember when a work unit of the Federal Gov. has been shut down and employees given Pink Slips. I also don't know a single person (or heard of same) who was a Fed Employee and got laid off. Not absorbed and moved down the hall,, but Laid Off.
And I would bet that the 5% mentioned above includes Fed Contractors and Temps.
Just my cynical side bubbling.
