I just got back from Amsterdam (business/pleasure) and have been many times. First thing you notice is alcohol and pot are not sold in the same establishment. Somehow that law makes sense to somebody. Since pot is legal, the authorities turn a blind eye to many other drugs. Street sellers are on every corner in the red light district trying to sell you crack, cocaine, heroin or whatever. Prostitutes complete with track marks and runny noses will offer you sex for dope or money. People urinate on the streets and I assume it helps wash away all the dog feces. You hear an ambulance about every 5 minutes on the way to pick up another overdose patient who has travelled there to experiment and found their limit the hard way. There is much conflict between the tax payers and the business owners that sell the dope because of the overhead involved with all the required public services.

I agree with live and let live.... but.....it will be very interesting to see how this all unfolds.

P.S. Oh, and California also voted in a new law to make porno actors wear condoms. We can sleep well now knowing they are protected. The government inspectors can show up at porn shoots to make sure they have gloves and condoms on. I bet Joe Biden would be good at that. He strikes me as the type.
