I think here's the problem with such a narrow interpretation of this quote. Labor is not a noun, it's a verb. Capital is a noun. Labor is the effort one expends regardless of whether it is digging a ditch or sitting in a board room making decisions. The fact is society places far greater value on the latter and little value on the former and rightly so. Anyone with a strong back and a weak mind can dig a ditch. Not so making good decisions about the course of a complex multi national corporation.

Other than numerous branches of the govt, I am not aware of a successful corporation that succeeds by not providing what it's customer wants. This fear of corporations is abject nonsense. Fear your govt, for they can legally take what is yours at the point of a gun. They can imprison you. Theybcan harass you simply because of your political beliefs. They can send a drone to kill you. They can decide you don't get a transplant. Corporations not at all. It always astounds me the hypocrisy of the left that have no problem with labor unions spending billions on elections but want corporations muzzled. Get over Citizens United. It was the right decision. And get the tin foil back on your head so the corporations can't control you mind.
