I found an article this morning (below) that describes known positions on a Syria vote. The vast majority are not known (including Sessions, Shelby and Rogers). My experience has been to call my congressional offices and state my opinion saying I live in the Tennessee District 2. They only want to hear from registered voters within their represented district/state. If their intentions match your opinion, they'll usually tell you. Otherwise, if you inquire to they're position, they'll say they don't know how they will vote until they hear from more constituents. That is what they say when they abandon the wishes of their constituents too. Then you can look at the roll call after the vote and see for yourself what they did. I've only been interested in politics for a couple of years, but now I find citizen apathy disturbing. In Tennessee I know of several groups that can generate several hundred phone calls to influence the state legislature. I find Alabama to not have good organization, even within the major parties.

All I'm saying is: If you don't call and express your opinion, they will surely hear from Ratheon, Boeing and Lockheed Martin lobbyists from Alabama.
