Please point out where I said it was? Politicians have very little to do with ythe ups and downs of the economy other than around the edges. The deregulation of the banks (birthed by Phil Gramm...I think he had an R after his name) and the bank's understandable rush to take advantage of it, definitely was a catalist for the collapse in 2007-8 but it only made the inevitable occur sooner.
Definitely ''whoopee'' when the deficit goes down 75%. By the way, do you remember when we last had 8 straight years of the deficit going down with the last 3 bringing a budget surplus? It was while the next president's husband was in the WH! It was not something for which he can claim credit though, just as Bush can not be blamed for what happened next. ''It's the economy stupid.''
