Glad the hear the traps are improved.  Some were so bad that we would just pull the ball out and hit from behind.  I still think $55 is a bit steep but not ridiculous.  And they have put the money back into the course which has been great.

As for the layout, I think it is fine with a few areas that really bother me.  For example, the tree almost in the middle of the fairway on #9 either needs to be removed or they should get rid of the sand traps and replace with grass.  It's fine for golfers who can draw the ball as they can start it over the sand traps on the right.  However, for those of us that are not long hitters and either drive the ball straight or with a cut it is just wrong.  My strategy is to go over the tree but the need to go over the tree impacts distance.  I was actually on the tee box with the head greenskeeper one day and I offered to cut down the tree for him.  He got a good laugh, but I was serious.   Another gripe is #18.  Again, unless you are a long ball hitter you are looking at a long blind shot to the green on your second shot and if you are short everything feeds to the right and out of bounds.  I often find my third shot being either blind from the bottom of the hill or I am somewhere up the hill with an awkward stance.  Given the topography I am not sure how you can fix this hole.  All in all not a big deal and I've yet to play a course, including Grand National, where there are holes that challenge my usual game.  It is golf after all.
