Find a rat snake! Make friends with it and show it where the Copperhead lives. They love eating tasty Copperheads!!!
Actually, a lot of activity around that float will usually make them move on. Go out there frequently with a long stick or broom handle and pester it. Maybe a hose with a nozzle on the end spraying it. Anything to let it know it is not welcome. Moving into summer, it will mostly be nockturnal.
.... or the rat-shot idea.
