You refer to a 21st Century solution to the border problem rather than than a 12th Century one. Taking that into consideration, I have not heard of any countries who have border walls or some other type barriers having any problems with "illegals" entering their country. That seems to indicate that "walls, barriers, or other types of physical restraints" seem to work well in restricting unlawful entry to their country. I don't know about others, but during the attack on our borders, I didn't see anyone "crawliing" over the "concertina wire or razor wire" as it is sometimes called. The two border patrol representatives who are best qualified and closest to the border control problem spoke over the last two days on their needs and recommendations to best secure our borders. Based on their experience and daily involvement in providing border security, the need for a barrier, regardless of what it is called, is paramount.
