Something occurred to me today about the PPP. The premise is that small businesses will maintain their payroll for an 8-week period and if they do the government turns it into a grant. Here's the brilliant part. Direct payments to citizens, unemployment, etc. generate no tax revenue. So in reality with the PPP, the Feds will get back anywhere from 15% to 25% of the funds in the form of taxes paid by employees. The other money they are shelling out is just gone. The PPP will result in tens of billions in tax revenue.
