A couple of other tidbits that I had missed.

The rioter indicated he feared for Rittenhouse's life as he was being attacked by other rioters.

The rioter indicated that Rittenhouse was fleeing to get to the police.

Here are the 5 essential elements for self defense:

• Innocence: You can’t have started the fight.
• Imminence: You are in imminent danger of great bodily injury or death.
• Proportionality: Use deadly force if you are confronted with deadly force.
• Reasonableness: Were you reasonable in your reaction?
• Avoidance: Run away if possible before using deadly force.

Rittenhouse hits on all five of these elements in every way.  This should never get to the jury as there are attorneys all over the place screaming that this is a prime case for a directed verdict by the judge.  And the jury did not get to hear the criminal records of the rioters, including the one that survived that had been convicted on weapons charges and had pretty much spent the last year traveling from riot to riot and streaming them live on Fakebook.
