Lakeman - Have to agree with you and disagree with you on the PWCs.

I own two Sea Doos and my rules are as follows for ANYBODY riding mine and if any rule is broken off they come and believe me off they come is an understatement:

- NO RIDING UP IN NARROW SLOUGHS
-NO RIDING WITHIN 100 FEET OF THE SHORELINE or PIERS
- OBEY 100% OF ALL WATER SAFETY LAWS
- NO RIDING WHERE PEOPLE ARE TYRING TO FISH OR SKI, ETC.
- DO NOT CUT IN FRONT OF OR BEHIND A VESSEL WITHIN 100 FEET
- IF UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE, YOU CANNNOT LEAVE MY SIGHT.
- IF YOU HAVE NEVER RIDDEN A PWC, STAY WITHIN 100 FEET OF MY SHORELINE, TILL I FEEL COMFORTABLE YOU KNOW HOW TO RIDE AND CONTROL THE PWC.

Basically ride in the middle of the lake, or up in wide sloughs and obey all water navigation rules. Believe me when my children or others are riding my Sea Doos I am watching, ask my neighbors have they have seen me yell out my kids (which have boating licenses) and take them off the PWC. Actually if they go out of sight (over 18), I will sometimes jump in the ski boat and go check on them to ensure they are in fact obeying my rules.

Now I will agree with you in that there are some very inconsiderate riders of PWCs out there and I agree they are a nuisance at times. Actually had one up in my slough last year riding around in circles making HUGH waves and beating my boats up against the dock. So since I knew where they lived, I got on my Sea Doo and went up to their dock and did the exact same thing and when the parent came out to complain, I was more than happy to explain to them pay back was hell and I did not appreciate their children/guest riding up in my slough either. Have not had the problem sense, just do not think people think about the fact that doing 360’s, etc real make a lot of chop and can throw off some huge waves.

Lakeman – For the inconsiderate PWC riders and other boaters out there let me calculate for you the lead you need to give them before pulling the trigger. At 70 MPHs and 100 yards away, lead them 30 feet before then pull the trigger, then you should have a DIRECT hull hit. Happy shooting, LOL.
