This is a true story. It is an actual experience I had this morning with my 1998 Ford F-150. June 5, 2007.

You all know what I am referring to and should try the same trick.

I ran out early this morning to the nearby quick oil change place and got the truck serviced and ready for the next trek to Alabama. I hit the place at 8:30 and was the only customer with about 7 employees setting on their butts. The one chief oil change guy brought in a sample of my old deferential lube oil and a sample of what the new deferential lube oil looks like. We all know the slightest heat will make it look darker but completely OK. I knew it had been changed within the last twenty thousand miles and was OK. They pull this sales pitch every time I go in. I thought about it on the way over this morning. Just to mess with the guy. I looked at the old stuff, rubbed my one finger in it and then stuck a different finger in my mouth and pretended to me tasting it. I totally freaked the guy out. I said it looks and taste OK with no grit - and what do you think? Did you test it? He looked at me real funny and said - "no we don't test it - we just look for discoloration". He stammered a lot when he said that. I saw him go back out to the oil change bay and started talking very excitedly to the other oil change employees and pointing toward me in the waiting area. I think I made their day.

I will not pretend to taste test again since I have no idea what they will be mixing in with the fluids next time. LOL
