Stay in the middle.

That's a long way to go in the dark with shallow water, I don't think I'd do it. Going from fireworks to Stemley bridge area last year was nerve racking, let along all the way back up to Riverside. I'd launch down closer like University Marine, much closer run back after the fireworks. Could probably watch the fireworks from University Marine as a matter of fact.
