suggestion doesn't work, I would appearing for the court date, with an attorney. You will likely still have to pay the fine (and the attorney fee), but the ticket won't go on your record. As someone else said, most of the time, those things don't come back to bite you on the backside until you either file for new insurance (buy another car) or change carriers. Then it can "rate" your premiums for a year or more. If you have an attorney friend who will accompany you to court without charging a big fee, more the better. From what I have seen, going to court alone just to plead guilty will not accomplish anything other than a long wait and eventual payment of the fine you could have just mailed in. Or, if you plead "not guilty" they will set a trial date when you would return to plead your case. Other alternative: mail a check.
