I was told today by a neighbor that Rep. Ron Johnson is willing to go to bat for us (Talladega Co.) in our need for a bridge at the old ferry site. I also understand that the hold up is the Shelby Co. DA who owns land near the bridge/road site. He's afraid his property value will decrease. I won't comment on that but anyone who may drop in to this forum who wants the bridge please type a formal letter to Ron Johnson. We need somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 letters. Us folks on the Talladega side would greatly benefit from this bridge. Personally I live in Fayetteville (Coosa Bend SD) and I work in B'ham. The bridge would shave about 15-20 min. off of my commute and save me a whole bunch of money in $3.50/gallon gas. Not to mention raise the property value a bit.
