If I understand jlacz's response, the issue is not "who" proposed the stimulus package, "where" the money will come from, or "why" it is or is not a good idea. What he doesn't like is that someone is using an often-misused yet easily-researched "fact" to make their Presidential decision. And I agree with him that that is disturbing. We claim to be such an intelligent nation, when in fact about 99.4% of us believe what we believe because someone told us what to think.

In a nutshell, when the original poster said that he WANTED a stimulus check and simultaneously took a shot at the Democratic candidate (who WANTS to GIVE him a stimulus check) he might as well have posted "I vote the way I do because I am told what to think. Tell the prettier lie and you will get my vote." And because there are SO MANY who seem to feel the same way, it is scary.
