National debt is a joint venture by both parties. Dems took control a couple of years ago promising dramatic fiscal change. Hasn't happened. There should have been some improvement (don't you think?) in two years??? Now they have a firmer grip on Congress, yet their platform was based on more doles to the middle class and higher taxes on big business to pay for that. No fiscal cutbacks anywhere. Oh, well - yeah, BO is gonna stop the war in Iraq immediately and stop that spend. Even if/when that happens, he's gotta build up Afghanistan (sp) so that will offset gains from Iraq departure.

All I'm saying is that the Dems aren't going to cut spending - they never have before. The only way to reduce the debt is to spend LESS. Both sides of the aisle should be under some kind of law to reduce spending and the debt.

And yes, all the billions spent on this campaign would have made a good sized dent in the debt.
