Jefferson was an amazing man. If you have never been to Monticello, make it a point to go there -- even his house was innovative for it's time.

I liked Ronald Reagan. He gave the country hope when it sadly needed it badly. A lot of what he said about government and Washington is correct. In Washington, no one talks about money. It is all about influence and power. Who you have access to; what level of clearance you have; even where you hold building passes to. Who takes your calls; even what meetings you are asked to. No one ever asks you where you live, but they always ask where you work -- to gauge where they are in relation to you in power and if you are someone who might be useful to them in the future. A friend of mine told me one time that Washington was the only place where you could be cut and diced and served up, and you might never realize you'd even been cut.
