Bush because there was so much money given out to the flood victims of katrina. They did not have flood insurance. The government does not want to carry the burden of taking care of you if you ARE in a flood zone and do not have flood insurance. I understand this, but it's just a pain because they are so crappy in their mapping. It does put the burden on the people. My suggestion would be for neighbors to go together and submit packages instead of individual applications. This would cut the cost in volume and defeat the government by giving them more of our hard earned dollars. It's just a thought and one way to feel like you won something out of this process. This would be something I would join one of the lake organizations over. Most of the time I already have my own battles I'm working on with government. Ha!
