My telephone service has been great with charter. You lose service with power outages but you have the option of buying the battery which gives you 8hrs extended service for $40 ( a one timr cost ). THE $19.95 first year per month cost is quite a savings from at&t. My next move is to have a cell that has good reception so I won't need the LAN or cable.

Hopefully Charter will survive the Chapter 11 and continue to serve us.
