Hi, long time lurker. First time poster. Food is a subject I have some knowledge about.

Has anyone noticed the lack of professionalism with the staff? I think if all of the staff would at least wear a white shirt, we could tell who was a waitress and who was just another Lake Martin area Bass Pro fan. I think that a uniform of some kind lends itself to better service. When I wear my uniform I always think I am in the spotlight.

The bartender was making a personal call when patrons were waving their hands to get another drink. There could be be three more staff positions at least; A host or hostess to seat patrons, a take out order person, and a second bartender. Lake Martin patrons do, as mentioned above, like to have their drinks flowing. I know that most business is in dire straights but take out food may just be "A bridge too far". When Niffers has someone run in for 30 take outs to eat in his RV, it bogs them down a lot. When the outdoor seating at LMOB get finished, parking will be more dense and both the kitchen and staff will be strung out further. The issue that killed MooWalla was their success. They had the best frozen custard, by far and priced reasonably. They then started to stack the malts up. The last few I got were runny and not cold. If they made them one at a time as ordered, they would still be in business.

My first beer last Monday cost $1.57 now it is going up from $2.75 to $3.00+ tax. I can understand if the pricey entrees like oysters are on the small side but the catfish basket should be on the generous side. It retails for $1.99 pound in town. The food channel has a fun show... Man vs. Food where Adam tries to eat some of the biggest portions around. Every place around the Country he goes to that has been in business for 75 years is still around because the words "generous portions" is the buzzword.

Best of luck to the new restaurant. Please do not let your initial success be the death of you with slow service, crowded conditions and meager portions. Enough for my first post.
