The problem with mildew is it needs moisture and a confined space to grow. Most boat covers from the factory are too tight, There has to be enough air flow to keep the mildew from growing. As marine vinyls age, they loose there clear coat (usually around the 3-4 year mark). So the info on Mary Kate and 303 is dead on. Not only does the mildew grow on the seats, but also gets into the foam, floors, and carpeting. As summer winds down, and football heats up, we forget to properly store our boat for the next year. The end of season prep is very important. Get it clean, then put a SUPER coat of 303 on ,then loosely cover with plenty of air flow through out the boat. Don't forget to remove all life vest and leave the seat bottoms up. Check to see if everything is going well during the winter and your boat should look as good as when you put it up. Be sure to use your total boat mooring cover, and make sure that it fits properly. If you need any help with it look at the coach kraft upholstery site on this website.
