Here is the skinny on the fuel line issue,the fuel lines are not defective per say,the problems showed up when we started putting 10% ethanol in our fuels,thes particular fuel lines were not meant for use with alcohol fuels.So what is happening is the inside of the fuel lines is breaking down,that not only shows up in the fuel filter on the front of the boat but it also clogs up the filters inside the carbs.There are no commercial available products to remedy this and here is why.You have a section of fuel line going from the fuel filter to the carbs,this section of fuel line is the longest on the boat and is full of fuel at all times,so what happens is any product you use will only loosen up the tar like substance and wash it straight into the carbs.When it gets to the carbs there are tiny filters in the carbs that sit directly in the fuel supply hole going to the needle and seats,so once thiese filters stop up its the end of the line as it creates quite a fuel obstruction.The only cure for this is to clean the carbs,fuel valve and all related fitting and replace every piece of fuel line on the boat,the only piece that does not get replaced goes to the tank vent and never has fuel in it.I do about four to five sets of carbs and fuel lines a week on average here,if I can be of help let me know.
