I think that there was too much negative hoopla about traffic jams, signs that said prepare for traffic delays and over flow parking miles from the lake, to a point that many people stayed away fearing something much much worse than actually happened. I probably heard more people say "I'm not going into that boating nighmare" or " too much of a hassle", " too much trouble" etc.

Actually no traffic delays (snags) ever happened. Even on Saturday at 1:30 PM my family had no trouble getting to Eclectic and back, nor did another member coming from Alex City that had to cross the bridge.

The RV and Boat trailer storage (temporary) that was staged at Little Ponderosa, junction of HWY 63 and County road 80 had only One RV. I never saw a boat rig there. The second area across from Westplate marine near Red Hill Road had very few takers.

I think the seed was also planted over three weeks ago with the confusion about having to register etc. All in all I just feel that there were too many people that had an impression that it was going to be more trouble than it was worth.

I must admitt that I too was reluctant to go so I scouted the place at 1:30 PM while on my waverunner. To my surprise the number of boats was far far less than had been projected so we decided to attend . Our pontoon got to the concert at 6:10 PM and we had no troubles.
