I understand your position. My main problem on the lake are the stupid people who think it's just fine for them to pass within fifty feet of my boat and swim platform, with my grandchildren in the water swimming, while they are either at a slow plane or running 50 miles/hr. These people would be shot on the coast. There is a total disregard for other people's property here.

The Marine Police are of absolutely no help--do you know that you cannot even reach them on the phone on the weekends. 99% on the need for Marine Police is non-emergency and you can't even reach them.
