Where was this at? I skimmed this thread and did not see the location.

My mother is guilty of letting 'Sandy' (sandy colored lab) run loose. I do not approve but she is tagged and very friendly and she has not received complaints. Not too many full time residents out here near us BUT there are about hlaf a dozen dogs that slip on and off our property. Hard to get upset when mom let's Sandy run loose often. Most dogs are not much bother but there a couple that concern us. One is a pit. I hate pit bulls. I don't care HOW MUCH you think that dog is safe.. IT IS NOT. If it ever becomes a concern and I feel threatened while it's on my prperty, I will shoot it and won't feel a bit of remorse, either. That being said, I do agree with pontoon. We have way too many dogs running around out here. It's worse in the summer... the visitors come up... let the dog out of the car and collect it (if they can) when they leave. Def not responsible pet owners. I guess they think this is their chance to let their dog have free reign.

I hope no one would shoot Sandy and I would never shoot a dog without some serious cause. These guys that MAY have shot your dog just for the heck of it need some good ol boy attitude adjustment.
