I've got a 2006 Mercury 9.9 hp motor for sale. Its in perfect condition, cranks every time runs smooth you'd never know that its not new. Only been used in freshwater lakes. Like yourself I don't work on engines so I bought it brand new myself.
I'm actually selling it with a fully rigged jon boat/trailer. But if you'd rather use it on your Jon Boat then I could sell it separately.
