My reply to your post had nothing to do with the dog story.  I simply asked how you concluded that "these people" have too much time on their hands and should be spending it on charitable causes.  Maybe I could better understand if you explained who "these people" are...water_watcher, forum members in general, media reporters or who??  As barneget has pointed out, there are those who follow the news and also do good works.
