Follow up on my post a couple of weeks ago. I followed the process of another Samsung owner I found posted on the web and it worked. Process: 1. Called in problem to factory service--they turned it down, but when I complained kicked me up to "Executive Service". (that means someone whose first language is close to English). 2. Turned down by Executive Service. 3. Got follow up call from customer service survey person, who was trained to side with me, but had no authority to help. 4. Wrote snail mail letter to CEO of Samsung US....got call today (12 days later) and was told that they would cover the three year old TV for a Samsung design problem. This is exactly the process Samsung followed according to the report on the web, so when (not if) your 2007-2010 Samsung flat screen won't power up, you will know what to do. From what I've read, the problem is common in DLP, LCD, and Plasma....wrong capacitor size used during manufacture of the power board.
