I would have to say you have a case against Aliant as it appears they were negligent in having proper controls in place to detect such activity and further safeguard your assets.

I can tell you from personal experience with Regions Bank when we detect fraudulent activity on one of our business checking accounts, we contacted them immediately they were apologetic and within days righted the account. This did not happen just once over the years, but 2 or 3 times on various different checking accounts.

Think if I were you I would call Aliant and insist on a face-to-face meeting with upper management and if they are not willing to accommodate you or the outcome of the meeting is not to you satisfaction I would inform them verbally and in writing that you will seek recourse regarding this matter with all federal regulatory agencies and civil actions as well.

As fraud is their responsibility to detect and safeguard against and not yours, other than to contact them immediately if you suspect or detect such, which I am sure you did.
