Received same letter today from Ben Russell and application form. The letter from Ben was the same as in the latest Lake Martin Living Magazine. The membership application is essentially the same as years past except it seems annual dues are higher (go figure). I belonged to LMRA for several years and supported their efforts (annual lake cleanups, in particular).

Since public involvement in the waters wars was cutoff about 5 years ago, very little has been heard from LMRA. I believe Ben's latest letter and new board of directors is an effort to crank the organization back up.

You ask, do we need two organizations? We need at least one that has sufficient clout to protect this resource treasure and the investments Martin's home and boat owners as well as supporting businesses. Guess eventually we'll see who's best of breed.
