God Bless America!
I remember when the fighter jets (don't know what they were, F15s?) used to practice runs towards the dam. They'd come in around Willow Point at about 1000 feet, slow down and drop to about 500 feet and "strafe" the dam, then hit the afterburners and shoot straight up with a roar that shook the entire lake. Used to be the 4th Saturday of every month, and we would wait for it like Christmas!
I live in the area where the C130 was spotted last week. Its a regular occurrence here, as we are obviously directly in their pattern. We also get several helicopters as well. My advice is to get used to it because they have been flying here forever, and I suspect/hope they will be forever more. Seeing/hearing/feeling them flying by is one of my fondest memories of the lake, and makes my heart pound with pride every time I see them.
If it inconveniences your life that our military likes to stay prepared, and in accomplishing that practices their skills over "your lake," keep in mind that France Canada are beautiful countries, and their "Air Forces" are little more than token gestures.
