I have to say, now the election is over, I got a kick out of the Sarah Palin wardrobe issue. As a woman, I thought her clothes looked really good. What woman doesn't want to look good, particularly if you are going to spend your days in front of a lot of people.

There is an article in the NY Times today about tensions between the McCain camp and the Palin camp, and one of the issues is the clothes. Supposedly, the RNC told her she could spend around $25K for 3 suits for the convention and 3 suits for the Fall campaign; and they were appalled when she spent $150K. Well, any woman knows that if you are going to shop at Saks and Neiman's that $25K wouldn't buy much. The article now says that the buying included clothes for her family and included luggage. Take $150K and divide it by her family members and it's not that much money.

It also says that they are considering sending auditors up to Alaska to inventory the clothes (visions of men in green eyeshades pawing through the woman's closet and inventorying her shoes... LOL). She says that the clothes are not hers and she will give them back. One has to wonder what will happen to them? Hopefully if they take them, they will donate them to a charity like 9-5, that provides clothing to women who are re-entering the workforce.

Although I don't agree with her politics, I thought whoever dressed Sarah did a great job. And I think they should let her keep the clothes, or let her buy them wholesale. They were likely tailored to her. And after seeing her yesterday in jeans and a sweatshirt, she's still in the public eye, and she still needs to look good.
