I would certainly agree that federal employees don't need a union. I really don't know enough about other public employees to express a view whether they need a Union or not.
But I will say this -- the failure of state and local governments to negotiate a good agreement does not justify crushing unions. It just is an indications of their inability to negotiate. They have the same option of walking away from the table as the Unions do when what being proposed is unacceptable. Maybe they lack intestinal fortitude?
