I am sorry you don't like the changes the band has gone through over the last few years. Many of the changes are for the improvement and health marching member. This is the largest band in the history of the university. Every organization worth its salt grows and changes. Not everyone is happy. So be it. You can't please everyone. However, the members including the majorettes are happy with the program. The university is a diverse group of students and I take offense to some of your comments. Some of the comments seem rather backward thinking. We don't live in the past century. The band is a cohesive unit. No one is "left out". Programs change and evolve. In fact my son was the drum major last year that speared the mace during pregame! The facts are the majorettes still lead out during pregame and do wear the white boots during pregame. The reason they do not wear the the rest of the day is because studies have shown they cause stress fractures and other injuries to the students. I am in favor of he health of the students over looks any day. Its sad when people have critize without the facts. I am proud of all the students that give up so much of their time and energy to participate in The Auburn Univesity Marching Band. No this isn't Tuskegee or any other band program...this is Auburn University Marching Band and a wonderful group of students. Maybe you can find it in your hearts to support the students and get the facts straight instead of hurting 375 kids.
