While BO deserves some credit, the real credit belongs to the Navy Seals and that ship's captain.

The Commander of the Maritime Institute said last night that there needs to be global action taken to protect ships at sea. I'm not sure why merchant ships do not carry weapons, given the frequency of these pirate attacks. I know nothing about Maritime Law. I worked with a woman who attended the Maritime Institute and wanted to become a Merchant Marine -- she didn't make it through and eventually went to Columbia. From all accounts, Merchant Marines are pretty tough individuals.
