you are right, we should let them go under. But since the UAW supported Obama so strongly he will not let that happen so he is using taxper money to pay back the favor. This is not about Obama's love for the US auto industry ... he could care less.

If the US auto industry goes under, so does the UAW and that is exactly what should happen. The imports that started factories in the US have proven then can run just fine with happy workers with the the UAW.

It is time for everyone to realize that unions have out lived their usefulness and now cause more harm than good and create higher costs through inefficiencies and unreasonable wage rates and benefits.

Look at the new Kia plant across the border in Georgia ... it is going to be one of the most automated plants ever built. Georgia is thrilled with the new jobs created. But see if GM, Ford or Chrysler could build a plant like that to replace one of theirs. No way! The UAW would fight tooth and nail because of the jobs that would be eliminated. But the UAW should actually be saying we are saving X number of jobs through the automation, otherwise everyone will lose their job since they can't compete.

You can't force people to pay more for an american car because the UAW drives up the cost ... oh wait if the government owns then they can pass laws to make other cars more expensive.
