I'm very proud of the Stars and Bars and always will. Did you even read the article, the war was not about slavery until Lincoln needed more to add to his army to help in the defeat of the southern brotherhood states. My forefathers were from the north and fought for the north and I also had/have relatives in the south which is where I feel I belong. It always amazes me that people start bringing up nooses and such when talking about a Flag. I fly my Stars and Bars along with my Union Flag when appropriate. It's all about heritage, everyone wants to have theirs but take away yours if they don't like it. All are important and should not be surpressed from anybody. Many of the slaves were brought here unwillingly by white slave traders but many were sold by their own tribes cheifs and elders but that is fact that most Afro-Americans don't know or don't want anyone else to know. Wrong is wrong but history cannot be changed. I believe and many may not like what I'm going to say but with the slaves ancestors being brought here however it was they got here now live in the greatest country in the world. most slaves were treated well and many white people were share croppers and had it just as bad. Not saying it was fair or right but true. I think We the people of this great country need to move on but not at the expense of leaving out the past and what it stood for or against.
