So why should the retired colonel's service "count"? Does that make him more deserving than say a retired plumber? factory worker? salesman?

I don't think so. I appreciate all who do, or have served. I make it point to thank ANYONE that I see in public that wears the uniform. If I am in a watering hole, I buy them a round. But that service DOES NOT entitle them to any special peace and quite, here or anywhere else. Your implication is that because he is retired military the ENTIRE neighborhood should have deferred to what he wanted, peace and qiet in his retirement. Sorry, he is the one that bought a place right next to a marina. There is plenty of peace and quiet to be had on Lake Martin. I have mine, maybe you should try to find yours too.

Your arguments go in circles and in most cases you are arguing with yourself. You respond to more of your own posts than ANYBODY else.

Chuck's has kareoke on Saturday night, BY JUDICIAL ORDER! Live with it or move. And if it offends you to say that... well to quote Neal Boortz... 'isn't that special'

I am sure that if you get your noise ordinace all of your neighbors will really appreciate that they can no longer have guests and party on their property, because those that resent you for this will call the sherrifs office and have it shut down promptly. At least I hope that they do.

As the saying goes, careful what you wish for, you may just get it!!
