I do live on the slough. I have experienced the "noise" coming from Chuck's during the limited hours he plays kereoke. We hear it plainly from outside our place. (I have heard private parties nearby that were louder and laster far into the morning hours) I know all about your suit against Gregg too.

And I am aware of the heightened water traffic after the bar there shuts down at 11:00 PM. I hear the voices and laughter over the water. Once in a while you can detect the slur induced by one too many lite beers. I hear the loud music from some of the boats. Some of the lyrics are pretty nasty. But unlike you I write it all off as background noise... people having a good tme. They pass by, the sound fades, and its over. No harm. No foul.

Sure there are two sides. I admit I often get angry when I hear Rap played through a loud base whether it is coming from a tricked out Honda Civic at an intersection or oversized speakers on "daddy's ski-boat". Its sends a sort of "screw you" message which is really the general idea behind Rap. That really pisses me off, but that's their right. I sure don't have the right to make them stop simply because I don't like it.

This slough isn't our private domain where either of us can dictate what is proper and what isn't regardless of where we own property. Its a public lake. When you start pretending the right to dictate what people can and cannot do based on your own feelings, you cross the line. Your assuming that privilage is far more noxious that the worst Rap lyrics or the worst kereoke rendition of "Strawberry Wine".
